Provide your information below to send a message to elected officials in Marin that MOC endorses the creation of permanent supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness.
To the Marin County Supervisors and Novato, San Rafael, and Corte Madera Mayors and Councilmembers:
As clergy, community, and nonprofit leaders, we ask that you support Marin County's purchase of three sites,
• 250 Entrada Drive in Novato (Inn Marin);
• 1591 Casa Buena Drive in Corte Madera (America’s Best Value Inn); and
• 3301 Kerner Boulevard in San Rafael, a vacant commercial property.
for the purpose of creating permanent supportive housing that will be affordable and designated for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Marin County.
We are currently experiencing a serious public health crisis, and the purchase of these properties would allow our most vulnerable and medically fragile residents to continue to live in safety from the pandemic and winter weather. We further recognize that the majority of these residents in the Corte Madera and Novato properties have already been living at these sites for more than six months without any threat to the surrounding communities. Finally, we believe that we live in a compassionate and inclusive community, and we want to stop our children, our family members, our friends, our workforce, and our classmates from having to live on the streets.
